Liquid Acid
Hot Liquor Treatment
Hot Liquor Treatment (HLT) is an acid blend for brewing liquor treatment, used to reduce alkalinity and adjust water chemistry in a single addition. It introduces sulphate and chloride while helping control scale, supporting consistent mash performance and efficient brewhouse operation.
Hot Liquor Treatment (HLT) is a specially formulated acidic solution developed for water treatment applications in the brewing industry. The product is designed for use in hot liquor systems, ensuring controlled pH adjustment and optimisation of brewing water quality.
Formulated with a blend of sulphuric and hydrochloric acids, HLT effectively reduces alkalinity and introduces beneficial chloride and sulphate ions into the brewing liquor. This supports improved mash performance, enhances wort clarity, and contributes to better filtration, extract yield, and fermentability.
HLT (Hot Liquor Treatment) is particularly effective in controlling scale formation within brewing systems and improving the efficiency of heat exchange equipment. It is recommended to dose into cold liquor tanks to prevent scale build-up and ensure optimal process conditions.
This brewing water treatment solution is suitable for use in breweries and beverage production facilities where precise control of water chemistry is essential for consistent product quality.
Hot Liquor Treatment (HLT) is designed for controlled water chemistry adjustment and alkalinity reduction, and is suitable for:
- Hot liquor tanks (HLT systems)
- Brewing water treatment
- pH adjustment processes
- Scale control in process systems
- Breweries and beverage production plants
Hot Liquor Treatment (HLT) is an acidic product and must be handled with care.
