Brewhouses
Brewpub
The brewpub system is a compact and aesthetically appealing, skid mounted brewhouse. Engineered from 304 stainless steel with a 2B finish, it offers practicality, endurance and good looks. A standard two vessel plan of mash/lauter and kettle whirlpool offers simplicity and an economic footprint.
Heating options span steam, electric and direct firing, with manual or touchscreen control available to suit your operation. Liquor management can be specified with a hot and cold liquor tank arrangement, or a hot liquor tank paired with two-stage heat exchange cooling. 316 stainless steel and further vessel configurations are available on request.
TECHNICAL DETAILS
Process Description
Grain is mixed in the hydrator with water at precise temperature and volume, controlled via a mixing valve, and aided by the raking system. This allows accurate mash temperatures and liquor to grist ratios, to give a predictable and repeatable wort.
The mash is then converted and extracted via laser cut mash plates and underback, and pumped to the kettle/whirlpool. Meanwhile, the grain is sparged via a ring to rinse out available sugars.
The wort is boiled in the kettle to extract bitterness from hops, sterilize, coagulate protein and remove undesirable volatiles. It is then passed through a pump and returned tangentially to separate solids. Once settled, the wort is passed through a plate heat exchanger to give an accurate pitching temperature, and oxygenated on its way to fermentation.
